Working with the Weta Workshop designers ( Rebecca, Dane, Jeremy, Adam etc) I sculpted 6 Geisha Hairdos for the upcoming film The Ghost in the Shell. Rupert had his 6 picks, I then had to tie them together with the same aesthetic and texture. They needed to split up for 3d printing and also clip together over a variety of different sized heads discreetly. I loved this job! Daniel Cockersell sculpted the face, based upon a scan of the actress.
Sculpted using Zbrush, rendered in Keyshot and additional work with Photoshop. Link to the FREE pdf Download or the game here

Lindsey and I used the Weta Digital basic T-pose model as a base, added texture and extra details to it, thickened areas such as spines and wing membranes to make it solid enough for a collectible. This detailed T-pose model was then posed, muscles, tension, movement and expression added before a final texture pass. We then sliced the mesh to create the kit parts for manufacturing... I then gets to 3D printed....
David Tremont and Leonard Ellis assembled the print which came in more parts than you can imagine and worked on extra gold, Dordi Bruland Moen did a wonderful paint job. Special thanks to Wil Furneax for helping me with my meshes through-out these collectibles, its been quite a learning curve!

Not exactly a collectible but it was on the Weta Collectibles booth this year at Comic-con. I Used a basic Digital SMAUG head from Weta Digital then sculpted the scales in Zbrush and re-posed it a little. This was then milled out in Polystyrene. There was a lot of work after that as detail was lost. Javier Murcia went over most of the scales using mine as a guide....there was a massive fibre-glass mould, Pietro lead the work on the Blinking eye and the paint job was superb. Everyone did such an amazing job and it was such an amazing design. Andrew, Jamie, Greg and Weta Digi......
Using the Weta Digital basic T-pose SMAUG, Lindsey Crummett and myself sculpted the large collectible Smaug in Zbrush. as you can see there was a hell of a lot of scale work most of which I added to the T-pose model before posing. David Tremont / Leonard Ellis assembled the 3dprint which came in more parts than you can imagine and worked on the extra gold pile, Dordi Bruland Moen did a wonderful paint job.. Photo's were supplied by Elessar on the One Ring. Net Forum. He was at the San Diego Comic-con.
Scan data of the actor and some of Weta Digital's Digital double was used to digitally sculpt THROR. Once 3d printed it was molded, cast in Chavant modelling clay, I then cleaned it up and finished it.
Dave Tremont modeled the throne. Photo's were supplied by Elessar on the One Ring. Net Forum. He was at the San Diego Comic-con.
Using scan data and some of Weta Digital's digital double I 3D modeled (sculpted) Bard the Bowman in Zbrush, Once printed it was molded, cast in Chavant modelling clay and I then cleaned it up and finished it. Photo's were supplied by Elessar on the One Ring. Net Forum.
The Weta Digital basic T-pose Smaug was used again to sculpt the SMAUGLETTE in Zbrush (based on a Zbrush sketch by Greg Tozer. As you can see there was a hell of a lot of scale work most of which I added to the T-pose model before posing. Dordi Bruland Moen did a wonderful paint job. Photo by Steve Unwin
I could be wrong but OIN BARREL RIDER may have been my last entirely physical collectible sculpt (including the likeness) for WETA as I seemed to have drifted over to the Digital world......
